Elbe1 has been engaged in providing key services for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm, located off the coast of Dounreay, Caithness. These services include the management of the prototype certification of the floater, ensuring that the innovative floating foundation meets all safety and performance standards, paving the way for a standardized approach for future floating offshore wind farms.
We also offer manufacturing surveillance strategy consultancy to streamline the process for evolving technology readiness levels. Furthermore, Elbe1 was selected to oversee the project certification for the entire wind farm array. Initial methods for harbor assembly, towing, storage, and anchoring were jointly developed to meet certification demands.
Elbe1 has also been chosen as the advisor for the certification strategy, ensuring it aligns with various investment options. Our selection was based on our extensive experience in certification consultancy, particularly with new technologies, and our long-standing relationship with the client, which ensures that quality and project milestones are met on time and within budget.
Once connected to the grid, this project will deliver clean energy to approximately 70,000 homes, covering around 65% of homes in the Highland Local Council Area.
